In reply to girmish. @girmish This is a lie. You know that when four hundred migrants lost their lives in Lampeusa Italy, the 369 of them were Eritreans. There were only 8 Ethiopians among them. The bodies of the Eritreans still remains in Italy because the Eritrean president refused to allow the bodies be transported back to Eritrea. How could you deny the reality? Eritrea is a country where no democratic election has never took place. It is the country of hell where it's citizens are being killed as they attempt to cross the boarders to other countries like to Sudan and Ethiopia, and hundreds of thousands detained in prison cells and dungeons for years without any trial. Why can't you show some respect and sympathy to the dieing people? I don't understand why you chose to have such evil mind!

I do not believe Mr Bruno you are well informed how complex the story of the poitical asylum seekers who pretend being Eritreans. Have ever tried to figure out how many of these Eritrean refugees are really Eritreans? If you carry out minor research, you will realise the majority of the allegedly Eritrea refugees originate in fact from a donor darling country (Ethiopia)you have never imagined. Believe it or not it, it is documented fact.

Dear Mr. Bruno,
Opinions like yours have helped created lots of failed states in the planet.
Yes, there is a one party governement in Eritrea, which forces every one to military service. Yes the government is repressive and does not respect right of individuals.
However, what you never mention either intentionally or due to lack of knowledge is the fact that.
The government was not isolated of it free will but by sanctions based on false accusations.
The government does not deny a peaceful coexistence with Ethiopia but Ethiopia, which is a US ally against terror, fails to comply with final and binding border ruling and still occupies Eritrean territory. Ethiopia works on active regime change policy with the consent of its allies. Ethiopia arms and finances groups opposed to the Eritrean government. Ethiopia attacks border positions and some times deep inside Eritrea. Makes continuous threats on an imminent invasion mostly in Tigrigna (local language).
As if these is not enough the EU decided to grant every Eritrean who made it to Europe an asylum. Thereby tempting poor Eritreans and non-Eritreans to take the risky journey and bleed Eritrea of its young generation.
I very much doubt that you are that at all concerned about the country Eritrea or its people. Otherwise you would have taken a bit more time to find out about the situation in the ground.
If the western powers in their unending wisdom insist on enforcing regime change by isolation and helping Ethiopia sustain the no war and no peace situation. You will sure get the envisioned regime change goals. However, that will not stop the refugee stream and improve human rights record of the country but make Eritrea another Somalia, Yemen, Libya. Syria … , where chaos and extremism can thrive and wreck havoc in Eritrea and the region.
