Summary

Protests over a disputed election result have been raging in Bolivia since late October. On Monday, the protest movement achieved its main goal when the embattled Evo Morales resigned the presidency and took up an offer of asylum in Mexico. But the Bolivia he leaves behind remains deeply divided, with one side celebrating democratic vindication and the other decrying a nefarious coup.
